The Neighborhood
Loosely defined by some as South Cleveland, this sprawling suburban area encompasses a number of communities in and around Medina and Brunswick, Ohio. This wide-reaching area lacks the sheer urban sprawl of Cleveland, instead offering a laid-back, affordable community for renters looking to be close to the city but want a bit more space or a touch of peace and quiet.
The Village of Lodi
Lodi was the first settlement established in Medina County by the Harris family in 1811. Lodi is fortunate to have within its boundaries a hospital that is part of the Cleveland Clinic Akron General health system, a state-of-the-art library that is part of the Medina County Library District, and many retailers, dining establishments, and service providers providing many choices for our residents.
The Village of Lodi has three developed parks. The parks are cared for by all departments of the village. Parks are available for use on a first come first served basis. Park shelters and the gazebo are available for reservation through the Village Clerk/Treasurers office.
The village recently established a comprehensive plan with the goal to preserve the small town atmosphere that the Village of Lodi offers; promote quality commercial and industrial growth; maintain and enhance existing residential neighborhoods and provide for future residential development that includes a range of housing types, densities and affordability; and preserve the history and the natural amenities of the Village.
Lodi hosts the annual Sweet Corn Festival in the middle of July. This three-day-long event (now cut down to just one day) begins with a large parade through the town square. Other attractions include fair food, amusement rides, and a corn eating contest.
